26/04/11 Prospectus congratulates David Breslin (Consultant), who was recently awarded the Gold Medal for the ‘Gaisce – Presidents Award’ at an awards ceremony in Dublin Castle.

Prospectus congratulates David Breslin (Consultant), who was recently awarded the Gold Medal for the ‘Gaisce – Presidents Award’ at an awards ceremony in Dublin Castle.

Gaisce - the President’s Award is Ireland’s National Challenge Award, the country’s most prestigious and respected individual award programme, representing a challenge from the President of Ireland to young people between 15 and 25 years of age.  It involves completing four sections: Community Involvement, Personal Skill, Physical Recreation and Adventure Journey.

To achieve the Gold Medal, David coached and trained a local youth football team each week for approximately three years(obtaining an F.A.I. youth coach qualification); he graduated from the Moonrose Guitar Academy and is now a competent guitar player; he participated in fitness training sessions each week over the course of the two years; and finally, at the culmination of the award, David and two other Gold Award hopefuls completed the ‘Adventure Journey’, which entailed hiking 80km around the Wicklow Way over four days and three nights.

Congratulations to David for this tremendous achievement.

25/01/11 Health Summit 2011

Vincent Barton chaired the 7th National Health Summit at Croke Park Conference Centre, Dublin, on Tuesday 25th January 2011.

What will be the impact on health and social care services?

Topics include:

  •         Confronting the Crisis: The Public Expenditure Challenge facing the health service
  •          Turning Reforms into Hard Cash: Where will the savings be found?
  •          Delivering Change: The Leadership Challenge of delivering change through Employee Engagement
  •          Technologies that are transforming healthcare and its delivery
  •          Innovative Financing Models for technologies that will transform healthcare
  •         The Challenge of Financing Healthcare: Is there a case for Universal Health Insurance for Ireland?
