Jeanette is an experienced healthcare director and management consultant who specialises in innovation and redesign of evidenced-based clinical systems and services, clinical and financial performance improvement, capacity and demand management, business development and service mobilisation. She has worked in both public and private healthcare sectors as a Director and has an extensive track record of delivering at both strategic and operational levels, of leading multi-professional teams and steering major healthcare change programmes. She has a deep appreciation of the contribution needed from all professionals to deliver service improvements. Jeanette has extensive consultancy and managerial experience in all sectors of care – primary, secondary and tertiary. She is particularly skilled in developing whole systems clinical redesign, performance improvement and ‘lowest cost to serve’ programmes, including the preparation and facilitating of clinical, commercial and operational workshops, involving health care professionals from a wide range of disciplines. Tayside Health Board
As Director of Planning and Development for Tayside Health Board, she was responsible for the development of health care strategy and commissioning of services for the Tayside population of c. 400,000. Key achievements included leading the development of the Integrated Acute Services Strategy (£135m) in conjunction with the NHS and other planning partners.
General Healthcare Groups Enhanced Recovery Program
Jeanette designed and successfully implemented General Healthcare Groups Enhanced Recovery Program (whole systems clinical, operational and commercial model). The Program had two phases. Phase 1- the standardisation of over 200 clinical pathways and introduction of systems to reduce clinical and commercial variations. Phase 2 – the application of international evidence to gain innovation, including improved clinical outcomes and improved profitability. Phase 1 was piloted in three hospitals and fully implemented in the Group’s 64 Hospitals with an operational efficiency saving of £3m.
As a founding Director of Mercury Health, she was one of the Company Directors responsible for winning and commissioning one of the largest NHS contracts (GC 8 – £214m) in the Wave 1 ISTC programme. She led the formulation of the clinical strategy and models together with the clinical workforce strategy. Jeanette also led the commissioning and mobilisation of four ISTC Centres which were delivered on plan and within budget.
